Habitat: |
Tropical climates within 10 degrees of the equator with a distinct wet and dry season. Prefers volcanic derived soils that are well-drained. The ideal climatic parameters are 22 degrees to 30 degrees centigrade mean temperature, 1,250 to 2,500 mm of rain per year with dry or drought periods of three to five months. Preferred elevation is 0 to 600 meters. |
